Trompe l'oeil

Using the device of trick of the eye or trompe l'oeil has been a frequent occurrence in

Sarah's mural work and has worked particularly well as a technique to add space to an enclosed area, for example, to give the illusion of an extended conservatory area, or window perhaps. Fake doors shutters, panelling, fabric and shelves have all been painted as part of whole design schemes.

More grandiose projects have incorporated ancient classical moulding, with actual architectural features giving the trompe' l'oeil effect.

Sarah will work on walls or furniture using this form of painting.
